Mr. Petr Kresta is the Chief Operating Officer of Shared Health Diagnostic Services which comprises all publically funded medical laboratories, diagnostic imaging and non-invasive cardiac testing across Manitoba in approx. 80 sites from Churchill to the US border. He is the former Senior Executive Director and Chief Clinical and Diagnostic Technology Officer for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). In this capacity, he was responsible for all technical operations of the WRHA diagnostic imaging program and for the regional Clinical Engineering Program. Mr. Kresta is a registered professional engineer (Manitoba) and holds a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Brunswick. He is the immediate past Board Chair of the Canadian Medical Equipment Protection Plan (CEMPP) and immediate Past President of the American College of Clinical Engineering. Mr. Kresta is an expert advisor to Hay Group Healthcare Consulting. He has worked on consulting projects through the Hay Group for the Windsor Regional Hospital (Biomedical Engineering Services Review) and for the Waterloo-Wellington Regional Diagnostic Imaging Integrated Program Council (Diagnostic Imaging Strategic Plan). Mr. Kresta volunteers through the Mennonite Disaster Service which conducts home reconstruction following natural disasters.
