The Canadian Medical Equipment Protection Plan (CMEPP) was created in 1996 by an upstart group of three hospitals who realized they were paying too much for their equipment management services. Those early founders were biomedical engineers who used their own knowledge and understanding of medical devices to ensure CMEPP had a focus on lowering risk and delivering reliable and cost-effective maintenance management.
Today, strong relationships, flexibility and being a trusted advisor are the cornerstones of our work. We provide innovative service solutions to over 42 healthcare organizations located on more than 100 sites across Canada. We also partner with more than 100 Suppliers.
Another advantage of the CMEPP not-for-profit model is that at the end of every year, any surplus is returned to Participants for reinvestment in patient care and services. Since our inception we’ve returned over $35 million to hospital Participants.
