CMEPP is proud to welcome Dr. Shawn Ward into the Relationship Executive role for Atlantic Canada. While enrolled in a biomedical program at the start of his career, Shawn thought he would work in a hospital, but just a year into his role at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax he was recruited by GE Healthcare. He was their first employee based in Newfoundland and his career with the company would span over 30 years.
Shawn started out doing field service work where he would install, repair and calibrate medical equipment. One of his proudest moments was installing the first MRI in Newfoundland in the early 90s. He continued to do the field service work while assuming sales responsibilities and ultimately led a skilled Field Service team across Atlantic Canada.
Living by his own high academic standards, Shawn still found time to teach biomedical engineering technology two days a week at the College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland. He went on to earn his MBA and in 2018 he took the stage to accept a Doctorate in Business from Columbia Southern University.
Shawn is looking forward to applying his passion for problem-solving to the toughest challenges facing healthcare organizations in the Atlantic region. “With the pressure on resources and operational funding, CMEPP can provide organizations with the best options for service delivery while working side-by-side with Supplier service partners. It’s truly a win-win-win,” he says.
Welcome to CMEPP Shawn!
